U Series Worm Gearboxes

U series worm gearboxes are also called NMRV worm gearboxes and are cubical in shape. Their shape enables consumers to use install them in different modes without any change in gearbox structure. The shell in such gearboxes is made of cast iron, and they are produced in 110-300 sizes with short and long shafts.

Advantages and Disadvantages:

Advantages:

  • Economical;
  • Low noise;
  • Very high power capacity;
  • Minimum space needed for installation;
  • High Safety factor;
  • High life span;
  • Various installation modes;
  • Wide output speed selection range;
  • Wide output torque selection range.

Disadvantages:

  • They cannot be used at 1500 rpm.
  • High operating temperature (due to the gear engagement mechanism);
  • Relatively low efficiency (up to 65%).
